50 years ago, on 25 March 1957 year the signature of the Treaty of Rome created European family - European Economic Community (EEC). At the beginning it were 6 countries and after several enlargements we have now 27 member states. The Treaty on European Union, which was signed in Maastricht on 7 February 1992, changed the name of the European Economic Community to simply "the European Community". By adding inter-governmental co-operation to the existing "Community" system, the Maastricht Treaty created a new structure with three "pillars" which is political as well economic. This is the European Union (EU).

There are great celebrations of European 50th birthday and over the world. We are very happy, that official logo which appeare just everywhere was made by Polish artist.

We have prepared special service for this occation with competition, photoreportages of events and learning objects: http://project.cyberdusk.pl
