A piece of the Berlin Wall

Okay everybody is here, let’s go!” Our teacher shouted.

We marched down the road in a long line, going further and further away from the bus.

All of us were tired, we hadn’t get used to the early mornings and long days so no one was in the mood for talking.

Two minutes later we stood at the bus stop and waited.

Me and Emilia stood near the road ready to jump on the bus, they were usually double-deckers and we wanted to sit upstairs near the front window.

When the bus showed up we ran upstairs and got the seat we wanted, unfortunately the trip didn’t take that long. After ten minutes we saw a long and thin tower and we knew that’s where we were heading.

We said goodbye to half of the class which was going to a museum.

We walked for a minute and then we saw a bunch of bikes next to a store named Fat Tire Bike Tours, they rented out bikes and guides to for example classes or groups.

This is where we are going to start our tour, we are just going to wait for our guide.” Our teacher said.

We took the opportunity to look around nearby and went into the Fat tire bike tours shop, they didn’t only rent out bike tours, they sold souvenirs like pencils, t-shirts, postcards and you could also buy a little piece of the Berlin Wall, which a couple of my classmates did, now in afterwards I regret not buying it because it would be a nice and meaningful memory.

Hi my name is Marcus and I’m going to be your tour guide today,” a young man in his twenties said. He was quite tall and skinny, he had brown hair and a stubble.

You speak so perfect English” someone said. Which was really true, he had a Nice British accent which was really fun to listen to.

That’s because I’m from England” he answered with a smile.

We got to choose our own bikes, I took a red one and luckily it was perfect to my height.

Okay come on everyone,” Marcus said and jumped on his bike.

We had many stops where he talked, mostly about history and World War 2.

One time we stopped near a lot of concrete blocks, Marcus told us it was the Jewish memorial, we walked around among the blocks and when we came to the middle it was like a labyrinth, the blocks were a couple of meters high! We took pictures and some classmates ran around playing hide and seek.

Around one o’clock we took a break and went into a restaurant where we had potato and mushroom soup.

We sat at the restaurant for a little while and relaxed, I had already eaten a lot for breakfast so I couldn’t finish it all and when the waiter came down and looked at my bowl he joked and shook his head “No, no, no”, he said and all at the table laughed.

When everyone was full we started to bike back, but first we went to see a bit of the Berlin Wall. Marcus told us about the attempts to escape and what happened when the wall collapsed.

Later in the afternoon we met the other group, and as a good ending of the day we went to a nice restaurant and then back to the camp, we got there late so almost everybody was tired and as soon as my head touched the pillow I fell asleep.

Greenlands ices melts

This text is about our planet's problems, and what we have to do before it’s late. The ice melts down because of the warming.  What are we gonna do? The plants and animals are really exposed. This is what we're gonna do.
