Sum41
Sum41 is a rockband, the band started in Ajax 1996, and they got a record deal with
"Island Recods" in 1999.
Sum41 plays Rock, punk, poprock, poppunk, with some metal influences.
The band acctually played during highschool under the name "Kaspir".
They got the name "Sum41" since it was 41 days into summer, and therefore Sum, summer
and 41, Sum41.
The band had alot of competives like, Green day and Blink182.
The band members are following:
Deryck Wibley who plays the guitar and is the main singer, he also write lots of the songs.
Jason Paul McCaslin, who plays the bass and he got his nickname Cone from Deryck, because he always ate a cone icecream(strutglass) to lunh.
Steve Jocz plays the drums, and Beside playing with sum41 he is a classic piano teacher.
And there´s Tom Thacker.
Tom Thacker plays the guitar, but it wasn´t before 2007 that he became officially in the band, because before 20th July he only was playing during the turns.
The first album released was "All killer no filler"in 2001.
The first singel was Fatlip which became a big summer hit.
The band Turned a lot that year, they did around 300 plays that year.
In 2002 the next album release was "does this look infected?" which involved popular singles like "Still waiting", "the hell song" and "Over my head(better of dead)".
In 2004 the album chuck was released, they took the name chuck because they were in the dokumentary "war child canada" which were recorded in Congo.
After four days a war broke out outside the hotel that they lived in.
They and 40 other people was waiting for the battle to go over, but it never did.
Then it came soldiers to rescue them.
When they came home they named the album chuck in honor of the soldier Chuck Pelletier who brought them to safety.
In 2008 it was released their first "best hits"Album called 8years of blood, but was only released in Japan.
But in 2009 they released it in the rest of the world because the request of it was so big.
In 2011 the album Screaming bloody murderer was released,
Sum 41 said that the songs was going to be much more heavyer than before, which they were.
The band started writing the songs in the late 2008, and was deciding if they was going to make an EP(explicted plays) insteed of doing a new album, but they made a new album.
In 2010 sum 41 joined the eastpak antidote tour together with The black pacific.
They were in Stockholm and gothenburg, it was the first time they were in sweden since 2002.
During the tour they said that the album was gonna be named Screaming bloody murderer,
Which also talk around the internet that it was going to be, but also complicity.
