During their visit to Enköping, I had the pleasure of introducing two students visiting from Luxembourg to a well-known local café — Tammerfors Konditori. Our experience there offered a taste of Swedish fika culture in a cozy and welcoming setting.

The konditori, located at Kyrkogatan 28, Enköping, had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The interior was cozy and calm, with wooden furniture and the sweet smell of fresh baked goods in the air. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was easy for us to order. They let us take our time explaining the many different choices of pastries. For our fika, one of my Luxembourgish classmates chose a havreboll (oat ball), and the other picked a Dumle brownie.

I shared a wienerbröd (Danish pastry) with another classmate. The havreboll was soft, chocolatey, and rolled in coconut — a perfect introduction to classic Swedish treats. The Dumle brownie was rich and sweet, with a gooey caramel center that impressed us all. As for the wienerbröd, it was buttery and flaky with a sweet vanilla custard in the middle — simple but amazing. Compared to the Luxembourgish pastries, the Swedish fika is more chocolatey in their opinion.

In conclusion, Tammerfors Konditori is a great place to experience Swedish café culture. The pastries were tasty, the environment was peaceful, and the staff made us feel welcome. I would definitely recommend it to both locals and visitors looking to enjoy a real Swedish fika.
