The dramatic career

The name Abba is from the members initials: Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid.
The group was formed 1970, my mother was born the same year. In the group there were two married couples. Björn Ulveaus and Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid ”Frida”.

Their big breakthrough was in the Eurovision song contest 1973 with the song Ring ring.
They ended on the third place in that competition. But their greatest hit was waterloo who won the whole Eurovision song contest and that was 1974.

Abba have been one of the worlds most popular popgroup, with songs like Money Money Money, Fernando, Knowing me Knowig you and Dancing Queen.

The year 1974-1980 Abba hade nine first places on Englands toplist and one in USA.
During the first half of 1978 did Abba a promotion tour in USA, there did Take a chance on me climbed the toplists. The chorus is said to have evolved since Björn
jogged on Lidingö, hence the rhythm of the song.

Because the members found it difficult to reconcile poplife with privatlife, their group experienced a lot of friction. 1983 the newspaper said that the popular Abba have split up and it what news all over the world. It all was true a member said and no one else in Abba said against this member.
So that was the end of Abba.


One song that Abba have make is Mamma mia, which I think is about: How hard it is to combine poplife with privatlife.

They
hade difficulties with the privatlife because
everyone was curios of what they were doing all the time! When they don´t was merried anymore I think it was hard to meet on stage and go on with poplife like nothing has happend.


This song is very famous because it has been in a movie and the movie is namned after the song title.
