14. Sue's visit in Torsås
Av Wille 9D 2007-10-05 13:26

I think it was really funny when Sue was here. She was really nice and really liked to talk to us students very much. Me, Marie and Amanda had promised to show Sue around in Torsås. First we all met up in the sports hall. After that we walked to the “oak hill” and told her what we usually do there with orienteering. We also told her about the end-of-term-ceremony when all the students are there and the 9-graders say farewell to school. After we talked about the “oak hill” we walked towards the church, unfortuneally we couldn’t go in because there was something in church that day. So we went to look at the bells. After that we walked to the memorial grove. When we had described that we scatter the ashes in the water we went to Mjölnerskolan. After that we went to the library and showed her some books in English. After the library we wanted to show her a typical Swedish flower and bookshop so we went to Adolfssons flower shop and more book and office shop and after that we went back to school.

I remembered that she had a good sense of humor. The lessons became more fun. It's always feels like there's something special when a stranger comes and visiting us. When Sue told us about her school I thought that our school isn't so bad after all. I would much rather stay in Torskolan. I also think that you learn so much more from someone that speaks English every day.

The most things she told us did I already know but a few things was pretty knew e.g. The koalas are very easily stressed animals and whales give birth to their kids in a bay in Australia. Some things I already knew like the original people think the big aboriginal cliff is holy. I thought she was nice and easy to understand.

We had a visit from Australia here in our school last week. Her name was Sue Grund. She was 56 years old and is a teacher in a school in Australia. She has been with us on our lessons and told us so much about Australia.I think that many students have thought that this has been fun. At least I thought so. I understood her so good. Almoste I understood every word she did say. In Australia was it the snake that was the most dangrous animal. They have school unifroms in Australia. They are very careful with the water because they don´t have so much water. They have koalas in the trees in their school. They are very cute. Sue likes snow and winter very much because they don´t have any snow and winter in Australia. We learnt her some things about Sweden.
What did I think about Sue?
I think she was very friendly and interesting. It would be fun to meet her again. I was speaking to her some minutes when we had lunch and she was really friendly.

Australia has bean involved with many wars and it wasthe WW1 and the WW2 but the war was not in the country because Australia was a colony to England.
For a time a girl had bean killed by a crokodile.
In Sue´s school that she work on has many animals around and they have a fence because kids used to throw stones in to the windows.
Sue had once a baby kangaroo.
Sue have also knocked over a kangaroo when she was out and driving.
In Sue´s school they wear school uniforms, and they wear diffrent uniforms depending on what year they are in.
In Australia they do not have pointy roofs instead they have flat roof tops. And it's not snowing in Australia.

I remember that Sue wasen't shy and she told us a lot about Australia. She was 56 years old. She said that the snake was the most dangerous animal and that she was afraid of spiders. I learned that it can be 17 Sweden on one Australia. It was easy to understand what she said, she told us that they have a diffrent kind of football in Australia, the ball weight is 3 kilos. She said that their school was a bit more advanced than our. We told her about Sweden and we explained things about Sweden. In Australia they have to save water because they haven't got so much water. They can't just waist it away like we do.
