A journey to Auschwitz

Anne Magnusson 2012-10-16

The journey to Auschwitz was a though moment for me. It all started in the morning.

I was supposed to eat breakfast but I got so nervous that my body started to shake and I just couldn’t eat a thing. I was really scared about what was going to happen that day. And of course the day was getting worse and worse. We had to have the most weirdlooking old guide with a very annoying Swedish accent. I really don’t like guides at all because they make everything sound boring and not interesting at all. And the day got worse of course. Our pink cute bus stopped...

We were now in Auschwitz-Birkenau.

I sighted and went inside the first concentration camp.

I saw claymade gas chambers, pots and a lot of other stuff from the world war two. But then something horrible happened.

I saw tons and tons of real shaved hair. I started seeing imaginations of how they shaved these people, how they cried in pain. I just couldn’t see more.

I went out and started of course to cry and I still could see all these pictures of the concentration camp and how people cried and died. I didn’t want to see more, that was enough for me.

But still, my friends told me about everything he talked about and I just went paralyzed. I couldn’t believe that humans could do such a horrible thing as putting innocent people inside gas chambers and just kill them. They don’t deserve to die! I just wanted to burn everything down to the ground. I don’t like when people keep bad memories like this and take money to show other people and often paralyze them. It’s just so stupid and so sad.

But let’s face one thing my dear friends. Let’s never do such a thing like this, ever again!

I don’t regret it, I actually learned a lot, but this is just a world war two nightmare happening over and over again. If you want to know the true feeling of how the people lived in the concentration camps, I recommend you to go there. You get a true horrifying feeling and will never forget anything. And have family a member with you or a good friend, it can make you pretty emotional! And the first thing I wished when I entered, and I wish you will do before you go in, is that the prisoners now hopefully rest in peace.
