She attends a school called Hubert Clement in the city of Esch. At the school, all students are required to learn at least three languages. Clara studies German, French, and English while also pursuing a few extracurricular interests outside of school. In her free time, she mostly spends time with friends and sporting. When she gets older, her dream is to work in a field that involves languages, such as journalism or teaching, as she has a great interest in the subject.
She has been involved in music for a total of 11 years, but before she was allowed to play an instrument, she had to study at a music school for five years. She has now been playing the flute for six years. Her older sister inspired her to start playing music. Since she has always looked up to her sister, it was only natural for her to follow in her footsteps. Clara doesn’t feel the need to play music at a professional level, but she really enjoys it as a hobby. She hopes she never stops playing music because it has been a major part of her life, and she finds it very fun.
Beyond music, she also plays volleyball, which has become a big part of her life over the past three years since she started. Before volleyball, she tried several other sports, such as basketball, which she played for three years, and gymnastics, which she trained for five years but had to quit due to back problems. She first tried volleyball after school and immediatelygot interested in startpracticeit. Clara now practices four times a week and has two matches per weekend. She plays for two different teams called U19 Cadette 1 and U19 Cadette 2. One of her biggest achievements in volleyball was winning the Luxembourg Cup with her U19 Cadette 1 team, which is a major competition featuring teams from all over Luxembourg.
In the future, her goal is to play for a higher-level team, but she is aware that it will require a lot of training. Clara's dream is to play for a team abroad, though it feels like a big step since she hasn't been playing volleyball for very long. Last year, she faced a major setback when she broke her foot during a match, which meant she had to take a break from volleyball to recover. Luckily, her recovery went quickly, and she was able to return to the court after about three months.
-Balancing school, volleyball, and music takes up a lot of time and can sometimes be difficult to manage, she shared. Clara also described that she often feels overwhelmed and struggles to find time to rest, but she believes it is worth it.
