On this occasion, the first eTwinning prizes were awarded!
The beginning of the second year of eTwinning was marked by the award of the first eTwinning prizes! The prize giving ceremony took place on Friday 13 January 2006 where the names of the winners were unveiled by Ján Figel', Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Multilingualism and Ministers for Education from different European countries.
At the conference, concurrent workshops took place on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), pedagogical examples of school collaboration and how eTwinning makes a difference. A visit was moreover organised to the nearby electronica exhibition on "Age of Simulation".
In the exhibition hall, eTwinning projects were demonstrated. About 350 teachers from all member states were invited to the conference, and the National Support Services and the Central Support Service were there to actively inform participants on how to best benefit from the eTwinning action.
The conference took place at the Design Centre of Linz and was planned by the Austrian Sokrates Agency in connection with the Austrian presidency of the EU.
