The encouraging crowd at the 46th anniversary celebration at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium was made up of patriotic families, students aspiring to join the armed forces and children dressed in camouflage gear. The atmosphere was cheerful, and excitement filled the air as crowds gathered at early morning hours at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium to watch the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) as they showcased their skills in celebration of the 46th RBAF Day.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, who is also the Supreme Commander of RBAF, consented to attend the 46th RBAF celebration at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.

The theme of the 46th Anniversary, "Iltizam Memperkasa Pertahanan Negara"
, represents the continuous commitment of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in raising standards and abilities in terms of assets and human resources. The RBAF is always ready to defend the peace of the country, and remains concerned about global safety and harmony, especially in the region.

One of the highlights of the event was the aerial arrival of soldiers by parachute with Panji-Panji (flags) flowing behind them as they dove from a fleet of helicopters and landed in the stadium. It was an electrifying sight for the audience, as the soldiers appeared to fall at an alarmingly fast rate before they managed to pull up at the last moment to land with ease. It was truly a wondrous feat, which drew a massive round of applause and cheers from the crowd. The most impressive aspect of the show was their total synchronisation of the movements, and it was especially apparent when the soldiers bore arms and "defeated" their opponents.

During the show, the RBAF personnel on the field formed the numerals "4" and "6" to signify the 46th Anniversary of the armed forces. For the grand finale, a column of soldiers marched onto the field in perfect synchronisation and arranged themselves in ranks before they started singing "Pahlawan Bangsaku" or "My Nation's Warriors", which struck a positive chord with the crowd who sang along, while a display of pyrotechnics in red and yellow smoke in the background added to the fervour.

This year's RBAF logo includes the RBAF symbol to show their responsibilities towards defending the freedom and sovereignty of the monarchy, the country and its religion. The flag colours of RBAF, the map of Brunei in the background, the number "46" in Arabic and Roman numerals highlight the 46th anniversary of the RBAF.
His Majesty then proceeded to the Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition (BRIDEX) 2007, which is held at the International Convention Centre. He consented to officially unveil the nation's much-anticipated Brunei International Defence Exhibition 2007 (BRIDEX 2007).Throughout His Majesty's tour of the exhibition, His Majesty showed keen interest in the displays, ranging from hi-tech military vehicles and weaponry to military equipment, and took time to interact with the participating exhibitors.

His Majesty consents to officially launch BRIDEX 2007 at the ICC
