In Poland, the first weekend of May is traditionally known as the “long weekend”, as it falls around two working free days: May 1 – May Day (St. Joseph of the Worker’s) and May 3, a Polish national holiday commemorating the signing of the Constitution of May 3 in 1791.

1st May is a Labour Day, but we call it State Holiday /(Swieto Pracy).
In Wroclaw it was a small performance aiming to make jokes with the past communism times. You could go with women dressed in uniforms like workers and Russian general and buy some gifts from those times and take a photo with Brezniew and Gierek - political leaders of those times.
As you can see on photo people didn't want to go with them ;))
Long weekend, the longest in Europe means you can take 3 free days and then you have all together 9.. :)
In Wroclaw we have performances, concerts, exibitions and many more..
