Ester and her mother had got the idea of building a compass to share with her friends at school.
We were pretending to be LITTLE EXPLORERS and a good explorer needs a
compass.
SUPPLIES YOU NEED.
1. a plate of plastic.
2. one needle
3. one magnet
4. a piece of cork
5. water
Fill the plastic plate with water. Rub the needle with the magnet several times and push the magnetized needle on or through it.
Carefully place the cork with magnetized needle into the cup so it is floating in the center.
The needle will move the cork pointing to the North.
